Three Meetings Set on Butte Creek Floodplain Plan

Butte Creek Watershed Conservancy

The Butte Creek Watershed Conservancy and Butte County are planning three town hall meetings to begin collecting information and ideas from local citizens concerning Butte Creek flood control problems and potential solutions.

The meetings will be: April 24 at the Lt. Larry Estes Search and Rescue building, 3965 Morrow Lane, Chico.; April 28 at Colusa Industrial Properties, 50 Sunrise Blvd., Colusa; and Wednesday, May 7, at Durham Memorial Hall, 9319 Midway, Durham.

All meetings will be from 6-9 p.m.

Information gathered will be used to develop a floodplain management plan for the Butte Creek watershed.

The plan will identify flood-related hazards, and list alternative strategies for future restoration and mitigation projects.
